As your local beat officer I wanted to send a message about recent events in SWANLEY and to highlight the good work of Kent police officers on the community safety Unit (CSU) and the local response team (LPT) and members of the public. The LPT team serving you that day was team3. All of you, if not most, would have heard about the recent armed robberies in SWANLEY and so I wanted to reassure you these types of crimes are rare and that a male suspect has been arrested, along with a female. The male has since been charged with the robbery at DOMINOS on 23/03/2024 and the ASDA Petrol Station at 0630hrs 24/03/2024 along with other offences and has been remanded to prison until his next court appearance. The female has been bailed whilst the investigation continues in the background. When a crime is reported to the police, the police are always playing catch up and are behind the times, but with the information and the speed at which an investigation can progress, the results can be had. Thanks must also go out the general public who thought something was not quite right, For example, the male was seen offering people money to get him out the area at around 0800hrs, the member of the public contacted Kent police at 1000hrs as they thought that something wasn't quite right after hearing about the armed robberies. and so contacted the police, which in turn provides police information that helps build that jigsaw puzzle and solve crime. |
