Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a robbery in Weymouth.

At around 8.30am on Wednesday 10 April 2024, the victim – a local man in his 20s – was pinned against a wall by a man in New Street and his wallet and bankcard were taken.

It is reported that the offender then made off in the direction of Bond Street towards the Natwest bank. The victim’s bankcard was later used to make several fraudulent transactions.

Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries.

The offender – who is known to the victim – is described as aged in his mid-20s, six feet tall, of heavy build with short brown hair.

Police Constable Joseph Garrard, of Weymouth police, said: “This incident was reported to police on Sunday 21 April 2024 and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify the man responsible for this robbery.

“I would like to hear from any witnesses who were in the area at the time who may have seen what happened.”
