Attempted theft of a Motorcycle - Meyler Avenue


Good afternoon, dear residents,

Please be aware, yesterday morning we've received a report of an attempted motorcycle theft in your area - Meyler Avenue.

The brief circumstances are that one of our residents has noticed that the cover has been removed from his bike, and due it being  well secured, and parked up close to house offenders decided not to take any chances and left the area undetected. 

This message isn't intended to cause any worry and is just to remind you to be extra vigilant in keeping you and your motorbike/Moped secure and save.

If you own a Motorbike/Moped please, if you can, consider:
- Cover for your motorcycle to make it less visible to thieves;
- Park and secure your motorbike in a well-lit are, preferably somewhere with CCTV;
- Chain and lock your motorcycle to an immovable object, threading the chain through the wheels and frame;
- Use as many security items as you can, such as chain through the back wheel and securing your bike to an immovable item such as ground anchor or a lamppost;
- Motorbike alarms and Immobilisers;

  • Mark your Motorcycle;
  • Garage;
  • Remove equipment, etc.

    Car/Van Owners

    Please, make sure and never leave any valuables in your vehicle overnight, and make sure your vehicle is locked, and car keys are kept on your person or in a safe place/car key signal blocker pouch.
