Crime Report Kirkby in Ashfield and the Rural Villages for the week to midnight Wednesday 24 April 2024


Crimes reported over the past seven days.

Burglary Dwelling

Around 3.30am on Thursday 18 April in Warwick Close, Kirkby in Ashfield, two stones were thrown at a rear window smashing the glass and damaging an internal wall. The property was entered and a handbag stolen which was found intact in a jitty next to the house.

At 2.00am on Monday 22 April in New Close, Kirkby in Ashfield, the door handle on the front door of a property was tried several times. No entry was gained.

Burglary Other

Between 4.00pm on Friday 19 and 12.30pm on Sunday 21 April in Prospect Close, Kirkby in Ashfield, the gate to GT Prospects Ltd. was cut through and a window was smashed to gain access to the building. The CCTV was destroyed, two Lenovo laptop computers and cash from a till was stolen.

Between 7.00pm on Friday 19 and 8.00am on Monday 22 April on the West Notts. College site on Station Park, Julia’s Way, Kirkby in Ashfield, the compound was broken into and a green Polaris Ranger off-road vehicle and a three axel trailer stolen.

Between 3.00pm on Tuesday 23 and 5.22am on Wednesday 24 April in Thorneywood Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield, the padlock on a garage door was smashed to gain entry and a black Yamaha Tracer900GT motorbike stolen.

Theft of motor vehicle

At 10.45pm on Monday 22 April in Portland Street, Kirkby in Ashfield, two recovery lorries were stolen from outside the garage of Ashfield Recovery and Haulage, by possibly three offenders, all dressed in black. One lorry, a Fiat, was not driveable and was towed away using the second Iveco lorry. 

Theft from motor vehicle

Between 8.15am and 8.45am on Monday 22 April in Top Row, Jacksdale, a Ford Transit 270 Custom van had the lock forced, damaging the door arch, to gain access. A number of power tools were stolen including drills impact drivers, multi-tool and a saw.

ASB

At 6.56pm on Friday 19 April in Kingsway Park, Kingsway, Kirkby in Ashfield, reports of two off-road bikes and a quad bike being ridden near the children’s play area on the park. The riders were males, all wearing dark clothing and helmets, one red, one orange and the third black.

At 11.46am on Saturday 20 April in Rawson Street, Selston, a report of four lads not wearing helmets, taking turns to ride a green off-road/trials type bike around the estate. Creating a lot of noise and raising safety issues.

At 6.37pm on Wednesday 24 April in Byron Road, Annesley, two males, white, around 14years old, wearing black zip tops with hoods up and riding electric scooters, tried the front door of a property which opened. They made no attempt to enter but made off towards the youth club.

Between 2.40pm and 2.45pm on Monday 22 April in Windsor Road, Selston, report of an off-road bike doing wheelies up and down the road. The rider was male, white, 18/25 years old, short dark hair, not wearing a helmet.
