A group of men and teens from Bristol have been arrested after reports of suspicious behaviour in a Derby street.

We were called to reports of a group of six men looking into cars and walking into the gardens of houses in Wilson Street just after 4am on Tuesday 23 April.

Officers quickly arrived and detained the six – with two of the men found to be in possession of screwdrivers. A search of the area found balaclavas and more tools hidden under a car.

Two of the group, aged 19 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary – with the other four, aged 18, 19, 20, and 24, were arrested on suspicion of going to equipped for theft.

All have been released on police bail enquiries continue.
