Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following an assault in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report of an assault that occurred at around 3pm on Friday 19 April 2024 outside the Oak Academy school in Duck Lane.

Officers attended and it was reported that during an altercation between two school pupils, a man intervened before he was hit from behind and then kicked repeatedly whilst on the ground by another man.

The victim – a man in his 40s – and a 12-year-old child attended hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police Constable Emily Dilke, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this assault and establish the full circumstances of how it happened.

“We know that it occurred during a busy time of the day with many members of the public present, and we are keen for anyone who witnessed what happened who hasn’t already spoken to police to please come forward.”
