Thames Valley Police is appealing for the victim to come forward along with witnesses following an incident of assault and racially aggravated public order in Reading.

The incident occurred at around 6pm on Friday (17/11) on the number 16 bus, travelling on Overdown Road towards Purley.

The offender was racially abusive to the victim, a woman in her twenties or thirties, before putting his hands around her neck and attempting to strangle her.

When officers arrived, the victim had got off the bus and they have been unable to trace her.
