Appeal for specific witness following sexual assault – Reading

Dear Resident,

We are appealing for a specific witness to come forward following an incident of sexual assault in Reading.

At around 1.05am on Sunday 12 November, a woman has been waiting at the bus stop on St Mary’s Butts, nearest to Hosier Street.

She has got up to get on to her bus, and a man has walked up behind her and started touching her round her waist.

She has turned round and the man has then tried to approach her again. At this point the victim ran off and reported the incident to officers.

A man from Reading, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He has been bailed while enquiries continue.

We are appealing for a specific witness to come forward who we believe the offender was being aggressive to before the sexual assault.

The witness is described as a white British man wearing a red beanie hat, a navy body warmer jacket and jeans.

We would ask this witness or anyone else who may have information in connection with this incident to please come forward.

Anyone with information can call 101 or provide it through our online pages, by quoting reference 43230508569.

Thanks
