We have arrested a man following suspicious activity in the Portswood area in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 21 November).
Officers on proactive patrol spotted a man acting in a suspicious manner on Lodge Road at approximately 5am.
The man was detained and searched under Section 1 of the Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and a screwdriver and suspected Class A drugs were found in his possession.
Officers arrested the man, a 45-year-old of no fixed abode, on suspicion of possession of a sharp pointed article in a public place and possession of a Class A drug. He has since been further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
He remains in police custody at the current time.
