The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for snow impacting on part of the Scottish Borders. The amber warning is in place from 7am to 12noon on SaturdayIt covers a large part of the Scottish Borders, including Galashiels, Hawick, Jedburgh, Peebles and SelkirkHeavy snow on Saturday, followed by a rapid thaw and subsequent rain on Saturday night, may cause some disruption and potentially floodingA multi-agency Incident Response Group will operate from SBC Headquarters through the amber warning period to co-ordinate the response and any recovery effortsAn underlying yellow weather warning for rain and snow remains in place for the whole of the region and runs from 4am on Saturday to 9am on SundayA yellow weather warning for wind is also in place on the east coast and runs from 5am to 7pm on Saturday.Key information As much as 5-10 cm of snow accumulating in places, before turning back to rain.
