Dear Resident,
A man attempting to rescue a stray dog on a busy road, has been left with serious leg injuries in a hit and run.
The 37-year-old was stuck by the red Mazda 3 on Lye By-pass, near to the junction of Jackson Street, Stourbridge at around 4.40pm on Thursday 14 November. He had been crossing the road after spotting a stray Pug near to a bus stop.
The car was later found parked behind Wollescote Community Centre on Wassell Road. It was seized for forensic examination and remains in a secure compound.
No arrests have been made and we need people who saw what happened or have dashcam footage of the collision, to get in touch with us.
The driver of the car, who we continue to search for, should immediately go to the nearest police station for questioning.
The man is now recovering at home but it is unclear what happened to the dog following the incident.
