High winds and heavy rain are forecast all day, on what the RAC predict will be the second busiest travel day of the Christmas period.  There are already lots of patches of standing water on the  local roads, and this is likely to worsen as the day goes on.  Please take extra care, and don't take any risks with driving through flood water.  Listen to you local radio channels for up to date news of  travel conditions.  The busiest period is expected to be between 13:00hrs and 18:00hrs, and this is also when the winds are forecast to be the strongest.  Please leave plenty of time for you travel, to make sure that you arrive at your chosen destination safely.  Remember, drive to arrive!  Safe travels.
