Grooming Gangs / County Lines

Good Afternoon,

You may have seen  a lot in the media about Grooming Gangs recently.

We would like to make you aware that grooming gangs and county lines operate in your area and how to protect yourself,  your friends and your children

Grooming is when someone pretends to be your friend or someone you trust so that they can gain something from you.

They can do this by gaining your trust by:

-Convince you that they love you and that you are their boyfriend/girlfriend

- Give you expensive gifts or clothes

- Carry a knife or gun

- Give you a place to stay

- Offer you protection from others

These gangs may threaten you or someone you love, hurt or hit you, ask you to prove you are loyal by doing dangerous things and stop you going out.

You are also at risk from:

- Drug  Trafficking

- Violence

- Exploitation

- Sexual abuse

- Cuckooing

If you suspect any suspicious activity please call us on 101. Remember if you or someone you know is in urgent danger, you can dial 999

Stay Safe
