Monthly Community Update from Sgt McArthur– November 2025
Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well. As we move through November, I wanted to share a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our local area, what’s coming up, and how we’re working together to keep our community safe and thriving. 🔍 Local Priorities Our current focus areas include: Our activity included: -A knife arch deployed at the new Wolverhampton College building -Officers delivering education and advice about local knife bins -Targeted knife sweeps in hotspot locations during peak times -This work is vital in keeping our communities safe and raising awareness of the dangers associated with carrying knives. Theft – Although we are currently showing reductions in Theft from the person, we are aware that this is a seasonal offence, so as we head into darker nights and the busy Christmas period, we can see an increase in November and December. As a result of that our officers are on high-visibility patrols and pursue offenders who are identified for this offence by working closely with businesses and the public. Last week we charged two people with a theft from the person offence, but we still encourage everyone to stay vigilant. Simple steps can make a big difference: -Avoid carrying large amounts of cash -Stay aware of your surroundings when using cash points or paying for goods -Be cautious of distractions -Never leave personal belongings unattended -We’re continuing patrols and targeted operations in these areas, and welcome any feedback or concerns you’d like to raise. 🤝 Partnership Working We’ve been working closely with: City Centre car park– Tower street car park. We responded to calls and have worked with the owner to reduce concerns and make the area cleaner, feeling safer and our officers continue to patrol the area on a regular basis These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs. 🧑🤝🧑 Community Involvement Thank you to everyone who’s taken part in:
🎉 Upcoming Events Attendance has been so strong that we’re now looking at larger venues! Future Dates and locations are below From next weekend, we begin Operation Silent Night. Officers will be out across the city centre, safeguarding the public, supporting VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) initiatives, and preventing crime throughout the festive period. Late Night Safe Haven will also be available throughout December in the city which provide a service in First Aid provision, reducing pressure on the NHS, Police and Ambulance service.
📅 Important Dates We’d love to see you there—these events are a great way to connect and share ideas. Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Stay safe and take care,
Sgt McArthur
