Local Priorities Violence against women and girls Message |
||
|
I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. On Friday 28th November officers from HATCH LANE and Hale End and Highams Park organised a Walk , Talk and Do as part of the 16 days of action against gender based violence. Officers walked with the local councillor and the council Vawg team. Officers and partners walked from the station, down to Winchester Road and the alleyways around Bridle Path and Cavendish Path, both areas raised by women to the councillors, due to the environment, poor lighting and generally feeling unsafe. Officers and the council ensured all street lights were working and that all overgrown hedges had been cut back. A number of female residents were spoken with and offered advice and support via the ‘street safe app’. We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years. | ||
