Theft from vehicles

Dear Resident

A message to remind everyone to NEVER leave items in their car on display. Even some loose change could be enough to tempt a thief.

It's a busy time of year and people are busy and in a rush, but leaving vehicles unlocked, and leaving items inside the vehicle are all very tempting to the criminals out there. Please take a minute before you enter your home to think if you've secured your belongings and your vehicle.

There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle:

Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible, or on a busy, well-lit road. Choose a ParkMark® accredited public car park wherever possible

Never leave anything on display in your car. The cost to repair damage to the vehicle will usually exceed the value of the theft

Drivers of some Toyota and Honda vehicles and some 4 x 4’s should install measures to deter theft of catalytic converts e.g Catloc | Catalytic Convertor Theft Protection
