Weekly Round-up! |

Good evening Resident,
It's been a very busy 4 day week for us, with the weather only getting hotter and it being half term for all the kids, i can only imagine that its going to get even more hectic and chaotic (as you will soon find out with what your about to read).
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – A total of Thirteen arrests have been made this week either by city centre officers or our teams having a hand in them. Let's get right in to it. Firstly an individual has been arrested early this week for his involvement in a stabbing at a residential property just outside of the city centre, and with a second individual being arrested in connection with the incident for threats to kill. A prolific city centre offender was arrested for a racially/religiously aggravated public order on Wednesday evening, he was later bailed the following day before being once again arrested for a shop theft on the Thursday evening. A male self-presented at Wolverhampton Police Stations front office for failing to appear at court and he was soon arrested and taken in to custody. After being spotted within the George Wallis pub this week, a male was apprehended and taken in to custody for failing to appear at court on the charge of Assaulting a police officer and various other offences. A male was arrested on Queen Square for a shop theft taking place at a local One Stop store, much to the offenders denial he was taken in to custody, charged and bailed the following day. A call was made through our Link radio system from Sports Direct in the city centre as eagle eyed staff spotted a male that had previously stolen from their store. The male was quickly detained by store security and collected by officers after a short wait. After being evicted from a supported living location, a male decided to return and cause a nuisance of himself. Police were called and the male was arrested for public order offences. You would like to think after he was released that he would have learnt his lesson…. Nope, he decided to once again return to the property and cause issues with not only staff but also local traffic by blocking the roadways and hitting the publics vehicles. He was once again arrested. Another prolific shoplifter was detained on the Newhampton Road and arrested for two shop thefts. Were nearly there, another male had been arrested for carrying out a theft whereby he has removed £40 from a member of the publics vehicle. He didn't stop their and decided to assault an officer upon his arrest. Finally, a male was arrested for assault after being green-dotted by an officer with a taser… he quickly gave up after a short foot chase.
Community Engagement – All of our officers this week, amongst all of their other duties, took time to engage with the public all things Knife Crime. They spoke to various groups and held some community engagement events at local hotspots around the city.
Guardian Patrols – Business as usual with our patrols this week, nothing new to report and only Servator patrols taking place this week, but everybody was behaving themselves during their time in the City.
Night-Time Economy – Multiple incidents involving teenagers occurred on Saturday evening, resulting in at least five assaults and a city centre-wide dispersal order being put in place. Operational Support Units and dog units were deployed, one arrest was made, and two individuals were added to the dispersal notice log, meaning they can be arrested if they return to the area within 48 hours.
Other News - Over the weekend officers were drafted in from Wolverhampton to help out in Birmingham City Centre. They were deployed to bother the Aston Villa Europa League victory parade and Birmingham Pride Celebrations.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
