Shoplifter caught, arrested and charged!

On Saturday 06th June 2026 officers from the Collier Row SNT, A/PS Colin SEARLE 4782EA, PCSO Tommy BARNES 7030EA & PCSO Daniel STONE 7015EA were on patrols in the Collier Row Town Centre when they responded to a call from Tesco, Collier Row to aggressive shoplifters stealing from the store. 

Officers responded within minutes and the suspects involved had left the store. An area search with the duty manager of the store resulted in 1 of the suspects being identified and found.

Following a short foot chase through Collier Row by A/PS SEARLE 4782EA & PCSO BARNES 7030EA, suspect was detained and searched and found to be in possession of 2 stolen bottles of alcohol valued at £90. Further enquiries revealed that the suspect was also involved in shoplifting from the same Tesco's on the Wednesday 03rd June 2026 where over £950 of alcohol was stolen! The suspect was also found in possession of Class C Drugs at the time.

The suspect was arrested for the shoplifting of both Saturday and Wednesday, possession of Class C drugs and also found to be wanted for recall to prison. The suspect was interviewed and charged and remanded to court where he was found guilty!

The suspect was sentenced to a total 20 weeks imprisonment and fined to pay £154.
