Weekly Ward Update – Taking Action & Keeping You Safe!

It’s been another busy and proactive week for the team, with PC Gulen and PCSO Jones out across the ward tackling key issues, supporting local businesses, and engaging with the community. We have been working with our new sister teams, Charlton Hornfair and Charlton Riverside SNT working under Sargent Hoyne-Butler

Bus Patrols – Keeping You Moving Safely
Our dedicated bus patrols have continued across the ward, providing a reassuring presence for passengers and addressing any concerns on public transport. We’re committed to making every journey as safe and comfortable as possible.

Retail Crackdown – Targeting Shoplifting
This week we carried out focused retail operations to combat shoplifting, working closely alongside local businesses. By targeting problem areas and repeat offenders, we are helping protect our shops and supporting the local economy.

Priority Patrols – Tackling Vehicle Crime
PC Gulen and PCSO Jones have been carrying out high-visibility patrols in our ward priority areas, with a strong focus on preventing motor vehicle crime. These targeted patrols act as a key deterrent and help us respond quickly to concerns.

Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention – Protect Your Vehicle

We’re asking residents to take a few simple steps to help keep vehicles safe:

Always lock your vehicle and keep keys secure (away from doors and windows)

Check you’ve locked it properly before walking away

Remove valuables or keep them out of sight

Consider using added security such as steering wheel locks or alarms

Park in well-lit, busy areas where possible

A few small actions can make a big difference in preventing theft.

Supporting Our Community – Church Procession
We were also proud to support a local church procession of around 100 people, helping to ensure the event ran smoothly and safely. It was fantastic to see the community come together, and we were pleased to play a part in such a positive local event.
