ARREST - Earlier this week your team helped the West Mercia Major Crime Team following information that a wanted male was residing in the North Solihull area. Following this valuable information the male was arrested for attempt murder, the offence took place in the West Mercia Force area at the start of the year.

ARREST - The team were definitely on a roll as more community intelligence came in that lead to the arrest of another wanted male. This offender had been wanted since January for Burglary & Theft of Motor Vehicle along with a recall to prison.

We have also been assisting with Housing visits, working alongside Solihull Community Housing & Citizen Housing. Joint work with these Partner Agencies is vital to re-enforcing the message that Anti-Social Behaviour will not be tolerated. Remember that if any of your household are found to be causing ASB in the community, tenancy agreements may be breached.

We are continuing to enforce the PSPO and have been patrolling the Bus Interchange & our Food outlets at regular intervals. Engaging with staff members, Security and customers alike.

Crime Updates

Chelmsley Wood

Between 4th - 5th June, both number plates were stolen from a Fiat 500 parked in Tulip Walk.

Overnight 5th- 6th June, a Maserati was stolen from Hamar Way later found on Chaplehouse Road.

Around 23:47hrs on 6th June, a vehicle was egged in Larch Croft.

Overnight 8th – 9th June, a Ford Puma was stolen from Chelmsley Road.

Fordbridge

Overnight 31st May – 1st June, a Ford Grand C-Max was entered and items stolen on Conway Road.

Between 05:10 x 05:25hrs on 4th June, a white male attempted to take the front bumper off a V/W van on Exeter Drive. He was disturbed by owners’ dog and made off in a blue/grey 56 plate Vauxhall Astra with another person driving, parked on Cambridge Drive.

Between 15:00 x 15:59hrs on 5th June, a person attempted to open a Nissan Qashqai on Tower Croft.

Between 18:00 x 23:20hrs on 6th June, a V/W Golf was stolen from Grantley Drive.

How to protect your keyless entry car

When at home keep your car key (and the spare) well away from the car.

Put the keys in a screened or signal-blocking pouch, such as a Faraday Bag and check if the bag or pouch is still working every few months. We often bring these pouches along to our monthly meetings as well as the protective signal blocking sleeves for contactless bank cards.

Reprogramme your keys if you buy a second-hand car.

Turn off wireless signals on your fob when it's not being used.

Additional physical security such as locks and immobilisers are still highly recommended.
