Criminal Damage Lydd

Good afternoon.

I've been made aware by Lydd Town Council (LTC) that there have been two separate incidents of suspected criminal damage to play park equipment on The Rype, Lydd, the most recent being 11th October.

My suspicion is also that it is criminal damage after having seen the damage that has been caused to them.

If indeed this was a criminal act then this was a very dangerous thing to do as a child or even adult could have been seriously injured or worse due to the parts of the swings that have been interfered with.

I know that LTC have recently had the equipment safety inspected (prior to the damage caused) and this was passed so therefore extremely unlikely that this was worn parts especially as the equipment is relatively new.

I would like to think that there will be no further damage caused but for the meantime I'd advise parents/guardians of children or even the children themselves (if they are able to) to at least visually check the equipment before using it.

Please share this message on social media so that those that use the equipment are fully aware and those that think damaging property that doesn't belong to them and have no regard for anyone else's safety also gets this message as me and my colleagues will be paying passing attention to the area.

Thank you.

Steve.
