School Visits

Yesterday...
PCSO Hillman attended St Joseph's School to deliver the Stranger Danger input to KS2 children in their morning assembly.
This is to ensure that the children are aware of how to keep themselves safe and what to do should they ever be approached by a stranger, and to ensure that they know who they can trust and talk to about it to raise the awareness.

PCSO Hillman then delivered the Role of the Police input to St Joseph's Nursery children in the afternoon. The children got the opportunity to try on lots of different Police uniform and have a look around a marked Police vehicle. The children enjoyed sitting in the Police vehicle and turning on the blue lights and sirens and having their photos taken by the School.
They also got to see all of the equipment that is carried in a Police vehicle and discover what it is used for.

To finish of the afternoon PCSO Hillman then attended Castle View Primary School to deliver the Anti-social Behaviour input to the Year 5 and 6 children. This is to ensure that the children are aware of what anti-social behaviour is and what type of behaviours fall into it and how this type of behaviour can affect not only them but their families, the victim and their families and the rest of the community. This is to prevent young people within our community falling into areas of anti-social behaviour and coming to the attention of the Police and other agencies that support us in tackling it.

Today…
PCSO Hillman has then attended All Saints Juniors School this afternoon to deliver the Road Safety input to the KS2 children. This is to raise the awareness about road safety and ensure that the children know how to cross the road safely. It is also to ensure that they know where it is safe to cross the road, but also the places where it is not safe to cross. It also teaches them how to make themselves more visible when walking to and from school and whilst out and about with their friends.

It has been nice for PCSO Hillman to engage with children from different schools and of different ages, and to help educate them on different topics and how the Police can help. She looks forward to working with the children and the schools throughout the rest of their academic year.
