Blythe Crimes update


Dear Resident,

Here are the Reported Crimes on Blythe from Tuesday 15th October – Wednesday 23rd October 2024.

Burglary.

Between 22/10/24 10.30pm - 23/10/24 12.24am. A burglary was reported on Cryersoak Close Monkspath. Offender(s) damaged a side gate and a door lock on the side of the house leading into the utility. Entry was gained to the utility room. Suspect(s) may have been disturbed and made off when the family returned home. 

Attempted burglary.

On the 21/10/24 at 2.29pm two offenders attempted to open a resident’s front door on Brambles Crescent Blythe. The resident saw them and called Police. Offenders made off.

Interference with Motor Vehicle.

On the 22/10/24 between 3.15-3.30am a scanning relay device was used by two offenders to try and open a BMW M SPORT on Tanworth Lane. The device wires were held against the resident’s property to try and pick up and relay the signal from the vehicle’s keys to the vehicle. No entry to the vehicle was gained.  

Theft from motor vehicle.

On the 21/10/24 between 1.11pm – 1.21pm a Transit van was parked on Farm House Way, Monkspath. Two unknown males entered the van and made off with Dewalt tools from the van and drove off in a black Mini. No registration seen. 

 

On the 22/10/24 at 2.58am a vehicle was entered on Lady Lane. Keys were stolen from the centre consul. Two suspects were seen in black and grey track suits, both wearing balaclavas.

 

Darker nights are here. Please set your alarm if fitted. Leave lights on or use light timers. Never leave your house in darkness. 

Ongoing patrols are continuing. Thank you to the residents who are helping Police with their investigations. 

Please use anti-tamper screws available from most vehicle spares shops to secure your number plates securely to your vehicle.

  • Ensure that all shrubs and hedges do NOT encroach the maximum height of 1m and Tree canopies are lifted to 1.8m. This allows for maximum natural surveillance.

  • Ensure that all fences are the same height as smaller fencing abutting higher fencing acts as a potential climbing aid for offenders.

  • Ensure that all garden furniture is stored away in a garden shed along with any tools to avoid aiding offenders in committing burglary.

  • Ensure that Wheelie Bins are not stored near to fences and are chained together to prevent them from being used as climbing aids or storing objects in that may aid an offender to commit a crime.
