ST MICHAEL'S TEAM 2

It’s been a busy week working with CV ONE identifying individuals shop lifting in the City Centre.

CV ONE have over 300 cameras in the CITY CENTRE and direct radio access to the St Michael's Neighbourhood Policing Team, meaning we have real time knowledge of offender’s location and have been guided to exact locations to arrest for such offences.

We have also dealt with multiple neighbourhood disputes this week of anti-social behaviour ranging from parking and boundary disputes to reports of intimidation from groups of youths.

ASB can cause nuisance and distress to an individual/s. It can be displayed as behaviours or a range of unacceptable activity for example;

  • Noise – including loud music, banging, loud parties.
  • Shouting, swearing and fighting.
  • Harassment.
  • Verbal abuse.
  • Dumping rubbish.
  • Vandalism, property damage and graffiti.
  • Anti-social drinking.
  • None of the above are acceptable in your neighbourhood, if this is something you are currently experiencing please get in touch dialling 101 or online via our live chat facility – available between 8am and midnight every day.

    What’s coming up?

  • We are fast approaching BONFIRE NIGHT – Be prepared – Be Safe – Be responsible
  • You can legally buy fireworks as long as the retailer has a licence to sell them and you are 18 years old or over.  It is a criminal offence for anyone under the age of 18 to be in possession of fireworks in a public place, it is also an offence for a retailer to sell firework to someone under the age.
  • In addition, members of the public can only buy fireworks rated UK categories one to three. Fireworks category four is licenced and can only be purchase and detonated by licenced fireworks professionals. All firework retailers need to obtain licence from WEST MIDLANDS FIRE SERVICE.
  • If you know a retailer that is not adhering to any of these regulations then please contact your LOCAL TRADING STANDARDS OFFICE.
  • Remember if someone in immediate danger or seriously injured call 999
