Business Burglary reports: (no reports)
Thefts: (ten investigations) Between 04/10/2024 and 07/10/24 Theft of parcels at the following locations: Cawood Crescent, SKIRLAUGH Main Street, LONG RISTON Church Lane, SKIRLAUGH Goldy Wood Avenue, SKIRLAUGH Main Street, LONG RISTON Sigglethorne Road, RISE Hull Road, SKIRLAUGH Launty Lane, LONG RISTON UPDATE: These Occurrences of similar incidents, which have taken place within the same area, during the same times frames and likely by the same suspect. The Modus Operandi is similar in each case – in short summary: parcel courier driver purports to deliver parcel to residential address. Suspect is seen (on some occasions) taking photo of item as if delivered to address. Suspect then removes the parcel from doorstep and takes back to vehicle before leaving area with parcel. Locations known are: SKIRLAUGH / RISE / LONG RISTON. These appear to be on the same delivery round. Offences known so far have been linked together. There has been considerable discussion on local Facebook group. The total value of thefts is not currently confirmed. The suspect vehicle is from out of town, and information is that the parcel courier will be agency working to cover the usual driver, hence there is a reasonable assumption that other offences may have taken place in other areas. The investigation is working in partnership with the Parcel courier company.
Victims have since received delivery or refunds for their items.
