Op Sceptre 11-17th November

Resident,

The Law

Here are a few laws around carrying/buying knives…

🔪 Possession of a knife can carry up to 4 years in prison, even if it is not used.
🔪 Police officers have the right to search any person/vehicle if they suspect an offence.
🔪 The legal age to buy a knife is 18 – this is the same for online purchases.
🔪 It is illegal to bring into the country, sell, own, hire or give someone a banned knife (e.g. butterfly knives, hidden knives etc… a full list of these can be found at banned knives - Search - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)).
🔪 It is against the law to carry a knife in a public place.
🔪 It is against the law to carry a knife on behalf of someone else.

Unless you have a reasonable excuse for carrying a knife - for example bringing it along to dispose of at one of our knife amnesty's, you should NOT be carrying a knife at all.
