As part of a continued investment into neighbourhood policing and local communities, today we are highlighting that 19 new Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) have been recruited by the force. This encouraging new cohort are completing their initial training at our Northern Neighbourhood Police Station, Courtland Road in Hull. When their eight-week training programme completes, these new recruits will be deployed to cover urban and rural communities across all areas of the force encompassing Hull, East Riding and North & North East Lincolnshire. Through regular engagement in these local communities, PCSOs help to provide a visible on-street presence offering greater public reassurance and improve the quality of life in local areas. Not only this, by working with partners and community groups they help towards tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, as well as providing crime prevention advice while supporting and sharing information with wider police colleagues. We caught up with Superintendent for Neighbourhood Policing and Partnerships, Gary Foster based on the Southbank, hear what he has to say. |
