Some good news today.

This morning PC Shaughnessy arrested an adult male for a shoplifting offence that had occurred in our town centre. He has since been interviewed and charged. He will appear at court later this year.

The male was wanted for a theft that occurred at HMV, Merseyway. It is reported that he took over £200.00 worth of headphones and made no attempt to pay. Thanks to CCTV footage provided by the store, PCSO Edge was able to identify the suspect.

As your local policing team - we take reports of theft seriously and will reasonably investigate all criminal matters reported to us. We will then take proportionate action against the offender once they have been identified.
