Tackling Rural Crime Across South Worcestershire
During the evening of Wednesday 6 November 2024, neighbourhood policing teams from Martley & Tenbury and Malvern Hills joined forces with our own rural crime officers on a series of intelligence-led patrols across the region. This joint operation focused on tackling rural offences, including poaching and agricultural theft.
This effort is part of a renewed approach to rural crime in South Worcestershire. Our rural neighbourhood officers are addressing specific issues within their communities, building a broader intelligence picture and working with partner forces and our problem-solving and prevention teams to deal with those issues.
Throughout the operation, numerous vehicles were stopped in areas of rural crime and occupants checked as well as hi-visibility patrols conducted throughout South Worcestershire rural communities.
We rely on the valuable connections we build within the community so please do continue your positive interactions which we process into intelligence submissions. The information your provide us formulates our area patrol strategy and our target hardening of the policing area. If we do not know about it, we cannot act on it. Further to that, we strongly encourage the reporting of incidents and crimes to us via the online reporting portal found on the West Mercia Police web site, via telephoning 101 or 999 for any crime in process.
If you wish to discuss any matters of rural crime, please contact your Safer Neighbourhood Team. | ||||
