Mud on the road

Good afternoon.

This message is to remind land owners of the importance of keeping roads clear, after farming operations take place.  There are many places across the Bridport and surrounding areas, where there is a lot of mud on the road, brought onto the road from the fields (not including mud being taken off the verges) on tractor/vehicle wheels.  I would like to remind you that there are offences relating to placing things on the highway that cause a hazard to other road users, but more importantly than this are potential civil liability claims, should someone have a collision, or suffer injury.

Please ensure that after an operation, you take a brush to the road to sweep up mud, as many of you do anyway.

Regards,
