Over £1,000 in Fines and 8 Points Given for Cramlington Motorcycle ASB

A local man has been fined more than £1,000 and received eight penalty points after being caught riding his motorcycle in an anti-social manner by Cramlington NPT.

The man was reported by police for driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and careless driving in May 2024. This was following efforts to identify him following several incidents of motorcycle anti-social behaviour (ASB) around Cramlington.

The severity of the court’s decision shows how serious the criminal justice system takes the issue of motorcycle ASB on Cramlington's roads, such incidents have raised safety concerns in many communities. Engaging in reckless and anti-social behaviour not only endangers others but disrupts local people and neighbourhoods.

Northumbria Police are committed to addressing motorcycle ASB and taking action wherever possible. Recent efforts to identify and take action against offenders have been ramped up with a dedicated motorcycle ASB team being set up in the Northumberland area.

If you have any information regarding motorcycle ASB please contact Northumbria Police on 101 or 999 if there is an imminent danger. Your reporting helps us keep communities safe and maintain a secure environment for all road users.
