Good afternoon,

I would first like to introduce myself; I am PC 5765 Butterworth, and I am the Community Beat Manager for Trinity, Rose Grove, Lower House, Coal Clough and Deer Play. 

I have been made aware over the recent months of ongoing issues in the areas. The main problems that have been brought to my attention have been the high level of anti-social behaviour in and around the area of HARGHER PARK and the Community Hub. The complaints received include young children aged from 9 years upwards setting fires, causing damage, being abusive towards members of the public, council staff, emergency workers and assault of emergency worker. This has become a concern for the public and others involved.

Today I have had a multi-agency meeting with representatives from Burnley Borough Council, Calico and the Lancashire Fire and Rescue and identified numerous children that have been involved in these incidents. I would like to reassure the local community that these incidents are being dealt with pro-actively and that joint visits are being made to address the issues with the parents of the children involved.

I hope the outcome will be that families and children a like will feel safe and be able to enjoy using the facilities available to them all.
