What have the neighbourhood team been doing?

  • We received a spike in Antisocial Behaviour incidents especially targeting the fast-food restaurants. With speedy identification of the suspects by officers and intelligence, a known local youth has been given an Acceptable Behavioral Contract that prohibits him from entering certain establishments and further investigations still ongoing for related incidents linked to the ASB.
  • Another Anti-social behaviour incident has been reported that again involve youths in a local car park who are causing alarm and distress and committing Public Order offences. After receiving CCTV footage, the beat team are in the process of identifying the suspects by visiting local schools and colleges and gathering local intelligence, so we can deal with the youths early to try and prevent any further offences being committed or the situation escalating.
  • Today officers attended court and were granted a Partial Closure Order on a local address that has been linked to drug related activity.
  • If you have school/college aged children that frequent in Loughborough Town after school or college, please remind them how to behave with respect and courtesy when out and about with their friends, in shops/businesses and public spaces.

ASB will NOT be tolerated, it is taken very seriously and will be dealt with by the Incremental Approach.

    Priorities - - Issued 24 October 2024

To reduce the number of thefts in and around Loughborough town centre Several persons have been arrested for thefts in and around Loughborough town centre, the thefts including theft from stores to theft from motor vehicle. Persons have been charged with offences with a number of persons being remanded to prison

  • It is pleasing to see that at this stage thefts of cycle remain in low numbers, and I am also pleased to state that a number of owners of previously stolen cycles have been re united with the cycle.
  • Following a stop check of a vehicle 3 persons were arrested on suspicion of theft from stores whereby a significant value of alcohol had been stolen, the three persons were charged with handling stolen goods. - Actioned 24 October 2024
  • Reduce Anti-social behaviour reported by residents across the local area in varying formats including car cruise meetings, noisy parties

  • Police are working with Charnwood Borough Council whereby a male in the town centre has been acting in an anti-social manner, Police and Council are working together in order that a community protection Notice be issued, this is following a community protection warning that had previously been issued. There are further community protection warning notice to be served to a number of persons who continue to cause anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
  • Two youths have been identified as causing anti-social behaviour in businesses within the town centre and interventions with the two young persons are ongoing as to appropriate disposals for the young persons
  • Police have worked with trading standards for some time and in October a retail store was closed in the town centre following information about illegal cigarettes/vapes being sold, this clearly has an impact on the community and public safety.
  • It is pleasing to note that again there have been fewer reports of anti-social behaviour caused by what is termed car cruises, where drivers meet on the A512 and drive their vehicles in an anti-social manner,
  • Drug related Anti-social behaviour including that of drug supply and use

  • Police have met with residents in relation to drug use and supply, patrols in the appropriate areas are taking place
  • Police continue to gather information in relation to drug use and supply in order enforcement can be progressed
  • Police are continuing to work with partners in relation to seeking a closure order for an address where anti social behaviour occurs, Anti social behaviour which is believed to be drug related.
  • This is still work in progress and will be updated shortly
  • Upcoming Neighbourhood Consultations

Neighbourhood consultations are a good opportunity to discuss your neighbourhood concerns and meet your local policing team. Please come along and speak to us.
