community news

Dear Resident

Hope you are all well and having a good start to your week. Here’s a quick roundup from your local policing team of some of the work we have been doing over the last couple of weeks in the Blakenall & Birchills Leamore area.

  • The team were invited to attend a Remembrance Day service which took place in Blakenall on the 8th November, this took place around the Peace Tree in Blakenall Heath. We were extremely grateful to be asked to take part. It was wonderful to meet so many people from to community and to pay our respects together.
  • Officers have undertaken undercover patrols to help tackle the issue of shoplifting in the Reedswood Retail park area which has resulted in the arrest of a person for shoplifting and robbery offences- who has since been charged and bailed with conditions.
  • The team will be at Sainsbury’s Reedswood on the 19th November with a pop-up stall with crime prevention materials. So please do come down if you get chance to!
  • The team will also be continuing patrols on the local bus services. The team are linking in on a regular basis with our external partners such as the council, providing updates regarding what work is being carried out.
