Appeal for information regarding dog attack

PC O'Halloran from Cirencester Police Station is appealing for information following a report of an out of control dog attacking and injuring another dog in City Bank park in Cirencester on 13th November 2024. A white terrier type dog with a dark patch on its coat entered the park without an owner and attacked another dog that was being walked by our caller.

After some minutes the person in charge of the terrier style dog arrived and was able to secure the dog, but not before injuries had been caused to our callers animal. The owner, or person who should have been in charge of the terrier, did not provide their details to our caller. Fortunately our caller obtained a photograph of the offending animal and we are now keen to identify both the dog and the person who was walking it yesterday.

Police are investigating the incident as a potential offence under the Dogs Act of 1871 or the Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991. If you can help PC O'Halloran identify the animal and its owners then please let us know via our website quoting incident number 128 of 13th November. Alternatively you can simply reply to this message, or provide information anonymously via the Crimestoppers website.

Thank you for your support.
