Dear Resident
On 07/11/2024 23:30 to 08/11/2024 00:30 an attempted burglary has taken place at Exeter House, Stratfield Road.
Victim has been asleep in the front bedroom, Victim has been awoken by sound of curtain pole in the bedroom falling down, when they have sat up, victim has seen a male suspect dressed all in black with a white face-covering mid way climbing through the window of the property. Victim stated main window was locked and suspect must have reached through small top window to unlock larger window. Suspect has jumped backwards out of the window after being disturbed and run off in the direction of DURHAM HOUSE. No items have been taken and nothing has been damaged

Tips to prevent burglary: Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed. Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home. Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place. Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features. Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera or a monitored burglar alarm. Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages. Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home.
