Two people are in custody this evening Friday November 14th on suspicion of theft of a moped and other driving offences following a pursuit this afternoon through Warlingham and up onto Selsdon. 

The two suspects were first spotted on the stolen bike in Hillbury Road, Warlingham when they began taunting and gesticulating towards a local PCSO on patrol in the area. Not wise on any occasion but especially so when you are on a stolen bike!

A pursuit soon followed when officers from the safer neighbourhood team arrived in support of the PCSO. With the assistance of the Met police and our eyes in the sky, NPAS, Police were able to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion with both offenders arrested nearby and a stolen bike soon to be reunited with its owner.

We are cancelling our appeal to find a 27-year-old man James Halpin who was wanted in connection with drug offences.

He has since been located and arrested.
