Crime prevention advice and Herts Connected registrations.

Resident,

Your Local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be attending Beech Avenue on Saturday 30th November between 1000-1100.

We hope to provide you with an opportunity to speak with officers and register to our new Herts Police messaging system called Herts Connected.

Our records indicate that Beech Avenue is a road which has been subject to burglaries in previous years. We will often see a rise in residential burglaries in the winter months, as the nights draw in and new and expensive items are kept at home. It is important to that attempts are made to deter potential intruders from targeting your property.

We know that burglaries can be a real concern for many residents, and whilst patrols are conducted each day by officers in Radlett and Aldenham, there are ways that residents can improve their own home security.

Tips to prevent burglary:

  • Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed.

  • Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home.

  • Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place.

  • Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features.

  • Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera or a monitored burglar alarm.

  • Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages.

  • Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home.

  •

We look forward to seeing you later this month.
