Dear all residents,

The Harrogate Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team is aware that we are approaching the time of year where we begin to see people travelling into our county to race horses on the A168 between the Dishforth and Boroughbridge. Police are increasing patrols on the road, specifically on weekend mornings to try and combat any offences.

We urge all road users and residents to report any problems experienced on the road via 999 in an instance where you are forced off the road or individuals try and close the road off to facilitate racing.

Harrogate Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team are committed to tackling this behaviour and over the past week, there have been two instances where possible races where disturbed by Police patrols resulting in no offences or disruptions to the A168.
