Neighbourhood Police Commander
Inspector Liz Perry
I am committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. My focus is on proactive neighbourhood policing to protect people from harm, building strong relationships with residents, and addressing the issues that matter most to you. Our priorities include protecting the vulnerable, tackling crime and antisocial behaviour, and strengthening community ties. These are all at the heart of our efforts. I am eager to work collaboratively with you to make our community a safer, more secure place for everyone. Please feel free to reach out with any concerns or suggestions.
You Said We Did
We have been receiving concerns from retail outlets regarding repeat offenders involved in theft and anti-social behaviour in their establishments, and the effect it has on their business and customers. We have acknowledged the seriousness of this issue and as a result have placed a dedicated resource to deal with persistent offenders engaged in this type of offence. Since its launch two months ago, this initiative has led to over 75 charges, resulting in several custodial sentences for the offenders. We are committed to continuing this work in collaboration with retail partners and strongly encourage the reporting of all incidents to help support us in making our communities safer and reduce ASB. The impact of theft and related anti-social behaviour on our communities is significant, and we are dedicated to addressing this issue in accordance with our commitment to victims and the guidelines outlined in the Retail Crime Action Plan. Together, we can tackle these challenges more effectively. Thank you for your continued support.
