Please clear your vehicles properly of snow!

Good Morning on this beautiful snowy morning.

Please don't travel just yet unless you really have too, we are very busy helping people.  The roads are difficult to drive on so please stay home with  a brew if you can!

If you do have to go out.  Please can you take a minute to read this advice about clearing your vehicle of snow.

I have seen some awful attempts of people clearing their vehicles of snow (or not) this morning on my drive in.

Remember….

  • To clear your lights, the front ones help you see, the rear ones help people see when you’re slowing or stopping.
  • Clear your windscreen, please don’t just clear it with the wipers!
  • Clear your number plates.
  • Clear the snow off your roof.  If you break harshly the snow will come onto your windscreen and you won’t be able to see!
  • Clear the snow off your bonnet, when you’re driving the snow will come onto your windscreen and you won’t be able to see! (there's a theme here)
  •

I know it takes time to clear all the snow off your vehicle, and it’s cold, but please do all you can to keep your self safe and to keep other safe.

Here is my attempt of clearing my Police Truck.  I use a car wash broom to help clear the snow!  We had a good 4 inches of snow here in Bromyard, the truck is tall, I am not, but it's clear of snow all round and the lights are clear.

    Stay Safe!
