We have received reports of workmen in the area, who are knocking on elderly residents doors telling them they need work doing on their house.

On both occasions, luckily, no money was exchanged, and kind neighbours instructed the workmen to leave. 

It is unknown whether these workmen are genuine.

Please bare this in mind if you see workmen canvassing an area and seem to be targeting elderly or vulnerable residents. If you have any elderly/vulnerable family or neighbours, we encourage you to make them aware of this potential scam. 

We also encourage anyone looking to have work done on their property to do their research and look for a reputable tradesman, and would be wary of anyone knocking on your door offering their services.
