Two suspected burglars have been arrested after officers responded to a report of a break-in at an address near Cirencester last night (Wednesday 20 November). A member of the public called police just after 6pm to report witnessing two men acting suspiciously in the garden of an address in Roberts Close, Stratton. It was reported that the men, who were dressed in black, had entered the side gate of the property. Officers from Cirencester quickly attended and found the rear window of the address had been forced open. The suspects had fled from the scene but after a short chase on foot, PC Helsel detained one of the suspects. Officers from Stow-on-the-Wold assisted with the search for the second male. PC Holdsworth located him a short time later in the allotments on Cheltenham Road. A hammer and crowbar were seized from the suspects. The two men, aged 38 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody at this time.
