Drugs arrest in Moreton

Dear members,

I wanted to bring to your attention some good news following some great work by members of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on Tuesday evening. You may have read the below on our Cotswold Neighbourhood Policing Facebook page but in case you have not:

Acting on some intelligence PC Poole and PCSO Hancock located and stopped a car belonging to a 32 year old man from Moreton-in-Marsh. The driver was searched and found to be in possession of several small bags of controlled drugs and a large amount of cash which the officers suspect to be the proceeds of crime. Having seized these items PC Poole conducted a roadside ‘Drugswipe’ which returned a positive result for controlled drugs and resulted in the suspects arrest on suspicion of Drug Driving and Possession with intent to supply controlled drugs.

A subsequent search of the mans home resulted in further seizures of controlled drugs, class A and B, along with a collection of 'zombie' knives.

Our suspect spent Tuesday night in custody and has been interviewed today by colleagues at Compass House police station.

He has now been released under investigation so that we can conduct forensic and financial enquiries and to examine his mobile devices for further evidence of drug dealing.

If you wish to provide intelligence regarding drug misuse you can do via our website, by e-mailing the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Cotswold.NPT@gloucestershire.police.uk or anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Thank you for your support.
