Volunteers required to host an awareness event!


Hello Resident

 

Do you love helping your community? 

Want to boost or enhance your communication skills while making a real difference? Looking for valuable experience community outreach, or volunteering?

 

If so, we need your help!

 

We have organised an event near you, on Friday 24th January from 10am to 2pm at The Stable Cafe and Community Space, 65 High Street, Newmarket, CB8 8NA 

 

We are looking for willing volunteers to help out.

Responsibilities and duties 

·  Team Up: Partner with another volunteer to run an informative 4 hour event.

·  Set the Stage: Help set up the room and create a welcoming atmosphere.

·  Engage and Educate: Chat with BT customers, explaining the Digital Voice Switch and sharing what Neighbourhood Watch is all about.

·  Personal Connections: Interact with attendees one-on-one or in small groups.

·  Feedback Fun: Collect feedback through surveys and learn what our community thinks.

·  Share the Knowledge: Hand out information leaflets.

·  Wrap It Up: Ensure everything is tidied up and attendees leave informed and happy. 

 

Why It Matters:

Your role is crucial in helping BT customers understand the Digital Voice Switch. You’ll be the friendly face of Neighbourhood Watch, making sure people know where to turn for support and creating a positive impact in your community.

 

Time commitment
•    Event lasts 4 hours.
•    2 x 1hour online training sessions to equip you with the knowledge needed

 

Who We’re Looking For:
No prior knowledge is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm! Ideal volunteers:
•    Love engaging and supporting people.
•    Are available during daytime.
•    Can attend online training sessions.
•    Are able to travel to event locations.
•    Share Neighbourhood Watch values.

 

Training Provided:
We’ve got you covered with two online training sessions:
•    A 1-hour session on the BT knowledge required
•    A 1-hour session on the event logistics


Plus, you’ll have direct support from the Neighbourhood Watch team every step of the way.

 

Expenses
We will refund traveling to the event, parking and refreshment.
