Good morning,
Officers from the Shirley Neighbourhood Policing Team have recently liaised with residents of Shepherds Green Road in relation to vehicles driving erratically and speeding. The option of setting up a local Community Speedwatch group to help combat this problem was suggested by officers, and with the support of local volunteers this group will be up and running in the new year.
Community Speedwatch is a community driven road safety initiative that empowers you to tackle speeding in your area, supported by the police. Members of the community that are interested in joining the scheme are trained by local officers to monitor the speed of vehicles with an approved speed detection device. Where vehicles are found to be speeding, the registered keeper will be sent a notice with the aim of encouraging them to reduce their speed in the future.
Our team are hard at work preventing crime and keeping our communities safe. If you have any local information to support us with this, please email the Shirley Neighbourhood Policing Team inbox on shirley@westmidlands.police.uk .
Please be aware that this inbox is NOT monitored 24 hours a day and is purely for non-emergencies. In an emergency please call 999. To report a crime in a non-emergency situation please call 101 or visit Report a crime | West Midlands Police to do this online. The Shirley Team will also keep you updated on their activity using X (previously known as Twitter). Please follow our team on X using the following username: @ShirleyWMP .
Thank you for your continued support Kind regards PCSO Dan Talbot 31111 The Shirley Neighbourhood Policing Team | ||||
