Hello Resident,
We hope you are keeping well and managing to keep out the wind and rain. Hopefully it picks up a bit for the Burbage Christmas Market this Friday (29th November 16:00-21:00, Windsor Street), where we will have our stall full of crime reduction items.
Overall, there has been minimal reports of crime in Burbage this week. A couple of incidents to make you aware of though, are a couple thefts from vans at the Jury’s Inn and Sketchley Grange Hotel where the van doors were cut and power tools taken. These 2 incidents occurred on the afternoon of the 19th and early hours of the 20th of November.
Please continue to be mindful around crime such as shed breaks and theft from vehicles, especially in the late afternoon and overnight. Outdoor lighting, alarm padlocks and removing targeted items will help reduce/prevent these types of issues.
We have been out and about patrolling Burbage, to address local concerns such as residential Burglary, theft from vehicles and highway issues. Whilst out patrolling the area PC Josh responded to a burglary in progress on Sapcote Road. Only being a short distance away, he arrived in minutes of the call being made. Thankfully it was only the wind. Similar call also on Tilton Road where we attended but it was a false alarm.
A resident has been in touch to appeal for a Silver Stainless ladies rotary watch with small square face and metal bracelet, which has been lost. Areas of note may be from St Catherine’s Church, Coventry Rd, Three pots and Denis road area. Pop me an email if you find it about, sure it would make someone very happy.
