Anti-Social Behaviour in Pickering

Pickering Neighbourhood Policing team have been conducting targeted patrols and have visited various residents in Pickering, in response to reports of youths kicking and knocking on their doors in the late evenings, prior to running off.

“Knock-a-door-run” can be very alarming and distressing, particularly for vulnerable members of our community. Consequently, this can have an impact on the wellbeing and quality of life of vulnerable residents, especially for those being targeted several times per evening.

Anyone found by Police at the time to be involved could be detained and recorded on Police systems for causing Anti-Social Behaviour. Parents/guardians of anyone identified as being involved will be approached by police and made aware of their child's choice of actions; further Police action may be required.

We are concerned for the safety of the young people involved, who fail to see the associated risks and consequences.

Anyone falling victim to this behaviour are encouraged to report it to the Police as soon as possible and refrain from engaging with the youths.

Anyone with information about those involved is also encouraged to contact the police.
