ASB awareness week

Good Evening Everyone,

It’s been a busy week for the Alnwick Neighbourhood team.

This week has been Anti-Social behaviour awareness week - We have been out and about in Alnwick engaging with the local community in partnership with Northumberland County Council. We had the engagement van in the Marketplace on Tuesday and on Wednesday we were up in the Barresdale Estate. Although it was a little cold, that didn’t seem to put you off – we had the opportunity to speak to so many of you to discuss issues and priorities and to promote the ways in which you can contact police / housing to report matters in the local area.

We have received reports of disorder in our more rural areas where motor bikes are being used on farmland scaring livestock and causing damage to property – Peter, Calvin, Paul and Steve have been out West patrolling providing visibility and reassurance to our farming communities.

It’s that time of year again CHRISTMAS is coming!! The team had the pleasure of being on duty at the weekend so were present at both the Alnwick and Rothbury Christmas light switch on. What a turn out for both. It was lovely to see so many people gathering for the festive events.

Darren and Seb even tried their luck on the tombola and Longhoughton Christmas Fair !!

Lastly I just wanted to share that the team have interviewed a further three youths in relation to damage caused to Alnwick Bus station – all three have been referred into the youth justice system.

We have issued 2 youths with anti-social behaviour warning letters in relation to disorder being caused in the west acres area of Alnwick.

A male received a court summons for motorcycle disorder and driving offences.

A male has been arrested for breaching a court order and another for breaching bail conditions.

If you are affected by Antisocial Behaviour, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Reports can be made via the following link at Report | Northumbria Police and provide anonymous information via Crimestoppers at Giving information anonymously | Crimestoppers . We will do all that we can to deal with those responsible.

Have a good week

Sergeant Tracey Brown
