Good Afternoon Flintshire North 🌥️
Rota 4 and NPT are with you today. It's a weekend review, with 148 calls for service since this time on Friday. 36 of which were P0 🚨 (Attended on Lights & Sirens)
🏡 14 x Domestic Incidents
🚔 90 Incidents came over to our system for a write up, 36 of which have been recorded as crimes. There were 9 arrests. There's a few assaults, some drink and drug drive incidents. 1 person remains in custody.
😞 We have unfortunately posted a number of tragic incidents over the last few days, the officers who dealt with these incidents directly will be supported. Unfortunately during the festive period those who are struggling with their mental health can become at risk of a crisis. There are some links below for those who may be struggling;

🧐 There doesn't seem to be any incidents likely to cause a community impact over the weekend - What's the information tidbit for today? It's on our favourite subject - Dogs (and searching) !!
🐕🦺 Otto and his pals are general purpose dogs, they can track people from places like cars or general areas. There's factors to how well they can search, wind/rain, foot traffic etc. They are often used to search for missing people and they can search for objects left behind. They can't search by getting someone's scent and looking for that - Specialist Search & Rescue dogs can do this, and where appropriate police will take an item belonging to the missing person for the SARD to scent, like a pillowcase or coat - Those dogs are deployed by Search and Rescue, not employed by police.
🐕 "Sniffer" dogs, like Bryn who we see often on the page and his pals can search for a number of items including, drugs, firearms, cash and digital items. We're very lucky to also work with dogs employed by Wagtail who are trained to sniff out a number of other items for special incidents.
🚔 General Purpose dogs like Otto and his pals also bite, they can be used to track and detain suspects. They also can't tell the difference between good guys and bad guys including the police uniform, so it's always best to be cautious and ask permission before approaching any police dog.
🐶 Our favourite boy Otto has been at it again, he's been supporting the Roads Crime Unit in tracking two suspects who didn't fancy hanging around! #JawsOfJustice. I'm office bound for the start of my shift today with some files to create to get persons charged for shoplifting offences and general writing up. I start to go a little stir crazy if I'm behind my desk for too long so I'll be out on patrol causing a nuisance ASAP! - Have a wonderful day, Stay Safe - 3604. | ||||
